How i-daptive® technology works
The i-daptive® system works on several levels:
i-daptive® has a variable behaviour that changes depending on the type of work, to ensure safety and comfort in every condition
COMFORT MODE
i-daptive® guarantees the anti-fatigue effect by returning part of the absorbed energy, in a way which is biomechanically compatible with the walking cycle.
DYNAMIC MODE
Thanks to the variable geometry of the system you are guaranteed an instantaneous adaptation to different use conditions.
OFF ROAD MODE
Reducing the risk of trauma and sprains in rugged terrain is achieved by the stability control system, constantly working to keep your foot on axis and relieving pressure on your joints.
ABSORBTION
The energy produced by the impact between the foot and the impact surface is absorbed: the system reacts dynamically and instantly utilising the work and impact to benefit the user and reduce shock sensation.
DISSIPATION
High impact energy is dissipated, taking the load off the body and immediately restoring normal function and ability. The stronger the impact the more your shoe works.
RETURN
Energy is returned for your benefit and varies to the speed and movement of the foot.
STABILITY
The foot is stabilized constantly as the sole works to keep the foot on axis, even during Supination and Pronation movements. This provides relief to pressure placed on the joints in the foot and further up the body, reducing risk of sprains.
Slip and abrasion resistance reach new levels with Base Protection's RTX outsole.
The new technology, developed by their Innovation Department, is a combination of materials that generates a grip coefficient well above the average.
The particular pattern shaped on the outsole has the function to further improve the grip performances of materials, providing high friction, even on floors made particularly slimy by the presence of various types of contaminants - in particular water-based.
Each single channel on the outsole is a way for the outflow of liquids and fluids, allowing the contact area between the outsole and the ground to remain in almost dry conditions, providing grip and slip resistance.
The outsole is made of RXT, a specific compound which guarantees abrasion resistance and ultra grip. The side of the midsole is made of TPU, to give stability and durability to the sole, thanks to its high mechanical properties. The inner part of the midsole is made of a special polyurethane compound with viscoelastic properties that enhances comfort. The front part, corresponding to the metatarsal area, has the function of absorbing shocks.
One of the most important technologies applied to Base Protection shoes is SmellStop, a particular anti-odour lining that prevents the proliferation of microorganisms responsible for bad odours and fungi.
With SmellStop, Base Protection has made its safety shoes anti-odour and antibacterial*, ensuring maximum foot protection.
Thanks to the SmellStop permanent antibacterial* treatment, the risks of infections and fungi caused by sweat are drastically reduced, since the innovative lining recreates a healthy environment inside the shoe and a constant dry microclimate, ideal conditions to give well-being to the foot.
*Treatment made with biocide Zinc pyrithione (CAS-No.13463-41-7) product type PT 09 which counteracts the deposit of microorganisms on the surface of materials.
The advantage of Base Protection's SmellStop technology lies in the fact that the antibacterial* treatment does not have an expiration date but is effective for the entire lifespan of the safety shoes, carrying out a constant action.
Thanks to SmellStop, the Base Protection anti-odour safety shoes are comfortable and light even when worn for many hours a day.
The SmellStop lining keeps the foot dry, gently wrapping it with maximum wearability.
Scan&Fit is the new Base Protection technology that allows you to perform a three-dimensional scan of your feet using a revolutionary smartphone app, designed to choose your ideal safety shoe including the size you require and which insoles would be most beneficial.
The system is very simple. Simply place your foot on a white sheet of A4 size and take 3 pictures of each foot from 3 different angles: the centre, the outside and the inside.
The application uses a mathematical model based on a vast database of 3D scans and on innovative three-dimensional reconstruction algorithms, developed by the Instituto de Biomecánica (IBV).
The app crosses the volumetric and morphological information of the scans with all Base Protection footwear to help identify the models that, in terms of shape and size, guarantee your ideal fit giving you the best possible chance of an incredibly comfortable fit.
Once the shoe has been selected, to further customize the choice and deliver an extra level of comfort the app will also suggest the size and the Base Protection insole most suitable for the shape of your foot arch: normal, generally flat or generally hollow.
The insoles are specifically designed by Base Protection in collaboration with the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute of Bologna. Thanks to the design of the Dry’n Air® insoles, you will experience optimal fit and comfort with a more uniform distribution of load forces leading to better balance and perfect stability control.
