FR Specialist

FR personalisation: start with compliance, not just the logo

If the garment is fire retardant, the branding method matters. The size, position and application type can all affect the route you should take, which is why FR personalisation needs a different conversation from standard printed or embroidered workwear.

FR embroidery is often the most straightforward option. The one thing to be aware of is that the available FR thread colours may not match every logo perfectly, so many companies choose a simple white or black version of the logo on FR garments.

If you want an FR heat seal, which is a heat-applied logo transfer, the safest recommendation is usually a left breast application under 10cm squared. That keeps the job practical, compliant and far easier to move forward with.

If the FR heat seal is larger than that, the first item for that logo may need to be sent away to the test centre. That only needs doing once per logo, but it can add extra testing time and cost to the first setup.

Recommended Route

FR left breast heat seal

£5.00 ex VAT
  • Keep the logo under 10cm squared.
  • Use the left breast position for the cleanest compliant option.
  • Usually the best choice where a heat-applied FR logo is required.
Before You Choose

What to expect with FR branding

  • FR embroidery may mean simplified logo colours such as white or black.
  • Oversized FR heat seals can trigger test-centre approval for the first setup.
  • We will normally guide you to the safest practical route first.

Not sure whether to print or embroider?

We will recommend the right method for the garment and the logo, but this is the quick guide most customers need.

draw

Embroidery

Usually best for polos, sweatshirts, fleeces, softshells and jackets where you want a durable stitched finish. Standard pricing assumes home wash thread, with industrial wash and industrial wash plus bleach thread options available where needed.

Professional finish Great for chest logos
print

Print

Usually best for larger back logos and artwork where sharper detail matters more than a stitched finish.

Ideal for back logos Good for detail
shield

FR branding

Best handled with advice first, because application size, thread colours and compliance all matter more on FR garments.

How it works

The aim is simple: get the first order right, approve the setup properly and make future orders easier.

1

Send us the logo and garment list

Tell us the garments, quantities and logo positions you need. If you already have links or product codes, even better.

2

We recommend the best route

We will quote the job and tell you whether print, embroidery, FR embroidery or FR heat seal is the better option.

3

Approve and move to production

Once the artwork and method are signed off, production can go ahead and future reorders become much easier.

Good to know: for businesses with 100+ employees, our portal can also be tailored around your buying process once the branded setup is approved.

Frequently asked questions

The questions below are usually enough to help customers understand the best route before they enquire.

What is best for my logo: print or embroidery?

That depends on the garment, the size of the logo and the finish you want. As a quick rule, embroidery suits chest logos and premium uniform, while print often suits larger back logos and sharper detail.

Can you match our exact logo colours on FR garments?

Not always. FR thread colour options can be more limited, so many customers choose a simplified white or black logo on FR garments instead.

Do the prices change for industrial wash garments?

They can do. The guide prices on this page assume home wash embroidery thread. If your garments are going through industrial wash or industrial wash and bleach processes, we can use the right thread specification, but that may affect the price and needs confirming at quote stage.

Can you do large FR heat seals?

Possibly, but once the application goes beyond 10cm squared it may no longer fit the straightforward compliant route. The first item for that logo may need to go to the test centre, which can add extra testing time to the first setup.

What do you need to quote the job?

A logo file if you have one, the garments you want, rough quantities, sizes if known and the logo positions required. That is usually enough for us to advise and price the first pass.

Can we reorder later without starting again?

Yes. Once the branding setup is agreed and approved, repeat orders are much easier. That is one of the main reasons customers prefer to get the first order handled properly.

Start your branded workwear enquiry

If you already know the garments you want, send them through here with the logo and quantities. If not, we can still recommend the right garments, branding method and FR route before you order.

No logo file yet? No problem. No garment code yet? We can still advise. We normally reply within 1 working day.

Include the garments or product links, rough quantities, size split and logo positions if you know them.
Use this for FR or compliance notes, colour concerns, logo questions, or if you want us to recommend garments.
Vector files such as AI, EPS or PDF are best, but a JPG or PNG is fine for a first quote. Accepted files up to 10 MB. If you do not have the logo to hand yet, you can still send the enquiry now.
We will review the garments, branding route, FR considerations and laundering notes before we come back to you.

Guide pricing: the prices on this page are a guide and assume home wash thread unless stated otherwise. If the garments are FR, industrial wash or industrial wash plus bleach, we will quote the correct route for the job. Lead times: these depend on the garment, branding method and quantity although samples can usually be produced within 5-7 working days if required.

What happens next

  • We review the garments, logo positions and the best branding method for the job.
  • We flag any FR or laundry points that affect compliance, thread choice or price.
  • We come back with the best first quote route instead of a generic one-line reply.

Fastest way to get a quote

  • Garment codes or links if you already know them.
  • Approximate quantities and any known size split.
  • Whether this is standard workwear, FR workwear or a mix.
  • Whether the garments are home wash, industrial wash or industrial wash plus bleach.
